Hi.
I write about freedom and I am "this reminds me of Livejournal" years old. Sign up here for a periodic email about libertarian and feminist things.
I’m Elizabeth. Or Liz. Or ENB. Any is fine. (And if you’ve known me for a really long time or my mom has lectured you enough about it, then Biz.) I’m a senior editor at the libertarian magazine Reason and co-founder and head (along with Kat Murti) of the nonprofit group Feminists for Liberty. I also sometimes write for other publications. Sign up here on Substack to follow my work.
I forgot I created a Substack until I recently started getting emails about people signing up. Substack is having a moment, I guess. I love editors and being a part of the weird team at Reason too much (also, a steady paycheck) to be a rogue journalist but I figure now is a good time to launch a project I’ve been meaning to for a while, which is just a basic newsletter about what I’m researching, writing, interested in, or otherwise want to share.
Emails once a month or.. probably less, if I’m being honest. This email will be sent whenever I sporadically get motivated to do it. It is free. I don’t really know yet what I will include—links to the better things I’ve written recently, Feminists for Liberty happenings, and random other things I think are interesting or important. <like a blog but emailed omg, I think in Elder Millennial> In any event, I’m psyched you’re taking an interest in my work, so thank you!
What you can expect: News about sex, speech, tech, justice, politics, and panic. Libertarian feminism. Probably some cat pics. Esme and Gemini. I live with them and my husband, Asawin Suebsaeng, in Cincinnati, Ohio right now. We’re spending some time here, where I grew up, until a post-pandemic return to Washington, D.C.
You can follow me on Twitter @enbrown, follow Reason on Twitter @reason, and follow Feminists for Liberty @FeministLiberty.
I recently quit Instagram and Facebook, am trying to make myself like Clubhouse, and have never managed to get on board with a video app ever. I like words and photos, though. Let’s do those.
Cheers,
ENB
